Craters & Freighters is embracing the technology and diving into the world of QR codes. QR stands for Quick Response and it is a two-dimensional barcode that can be scanned by smart phones or special cameras. The QR code comes in the form of a square shape consisting of scattered black boxes on a white background. Once the QR is scanned the code can contain information such as text, a URL or a SMS text. The reason QR codes are more advantageous to marketing than traditional bar codes lies in the sheer amount of information they can hold. QR codes also have an unlimited amount of creative and useful implementations.

Craters & Freighters plans to implement QR codes by putting them on flyers. These flyers will be placed in locations where our target markets are the most prevalent. These places include antique stores and art galleries around the Omaha metro area. These codes will contain exclusive discount offers that can only be accessed by scanning our flyers. These codes can also be used to benefit customer interactions and create a sale for the business the flyer is located in. For example, if an antique shopper withheld to make purchase of an antique that was large and awkward because they were unaware how to ship it. These flyers let the customer know there is a solution to their shipping dilemma and they can save a few bucks while doing it. We also plan on using QR codes so customers can achieve a free quote instantly on site.
